JRMSU holds system wide leadership training

Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) held a System Wide Leadership Training dubbed as “Empowering Student Leaders towards a Responsible, Accountable and Transparent Governance” at the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences’ (CNAHS’) Audio Visual Room (AVR) last June 28 of the current year.

The said leadership training was participated by the student councils from five campuses of  the University in which 75 participants were from Dapitan Campus; Tampilisan, 30; Katipunan, 15; Dipolog, 12; and Siocon, two.

As part of the seminar, Prof. Jay D. Telen, Dean of Student Affairs and Services (DSAS) made mention about “Benchmarking the Laws of Leadership for Effective Governance.”

Discussion on “Legal Concerns for Student Affairs” conducted by Atty. Mary Faith P. Montederamos, Dapitan City Prosecutor I followed.Atty. Montederamos also shared her skills and expertise particularly in giving case to case situations as well as the methods and techniques to be used in order to solve certain circumstances.

Moreover, Mrs. Lourdes T. Vallejos, MPA, Budget Officer –Designate (Main) and Mr. Jinboy A. Pitogo, CPA, College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) Instructor focused in teaching the student leaders on the “Preparation of Program of Expenditures, Financial Report of Development & Energy Fund Collection and Preparation of Statement of Cash Flows.”

Dr. Cecilia S. Saguin, Vice President for Academic Affairs elaborated topics concerning “Academic Freedom and University Affairs and Operations.” “The objective of every academic institution is to serve the truth, preserve the truth and communicate the truth,” Dr. Saguin said.

On the other hand, the SSG officials of Dapitan City National High School (DCNHS) headed by their SSG President, Hon. Mary Lyndie Borgonia were the observers of the aforementioned event.
