Main Campus joins Independence Day Celebration

Together with different local government agencies and various sectors of Dapitan City, Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU)- Main Campus took part  in the 116th Philippine Independence Day Celebration at Punto del Desembarco de Rizal, Dapitan City last June 12, 2014.
Among those who represented JRMSU were the Supreme Student (SSG) Officers spearheaded by Mr. Kim Lawrence P. Erquita, SSG President, and some of the Faculty and Staff of the University including Dr. Cecilia S. Saguin, Vice president for Academic Affairs (VPAA); Dr. Evelyn R. Campiseño, Vice President for Research, Extension and Development (VPRED); and Prof. Jay D. Telen, Dean of Student’s Affairs and Services (DSAS).
 
“Philippine Independence Day has become one of the significant events in our country. As Filipino citizens, celebrating such important occasion means giving honor to our brave heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, “Mr. Erquita averred.
 
On the other hand, Philippine National Police (PNP), Dapitan City National High School (DCNHS), City Tourism Office (CTO), Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dapitan City, Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital (DJMH), and Rizal Memorial Institute of Dapitan City Incorporated (RMIDCI) also participated in the said commemoration.
 
The mentioned celebration began at 7:30 A.M. with a parade starting from Justice Saguin Street passing through Rizal Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. After which was a welcome remarks delivered by Hon. Alexander E. Estacio, Chairman of Committee on Tourism followed by a message from the City Mayor, Hon. Rosalina G.      Jalosjos and was  properly closed by  Hon. Alemarlou B. Dagpin, Chairman      of the Committee on Culture and Arts.
 
Mr. Buddy B. Cagbabanua hosted the  event.
